In recent years, with its advantages of flexibility, lightness, energy saving and environmental protection, electric bicycle has become a new favorite of thousands of families for short trips. With the development of vehicle styles, models and performances, the original General Technical Conditions for Electric Bicycles (GB17761-1999) is no longer suitable for the actual situation of the development of the industry. In order to standardize and promote the development of the electric bicycle industry, according to the relevant documents of the State Council, the General Administration of Market Supervision and the National Standardization Management Committee issued a new compulsory national standard "Technical Specification for the Safety of Electric Bicycles" (GB17761-2018) on May 15, 2018, and the General Administration of Market Supervision and the State Certification and Accreditation Supervision and Administration Committee. It will announce the implementation of compulsory certification management for electric bicycles on July 2, 2018. The above-mentioned norms have been formally implemented since April 15, 2019.
The new national standard provides a strong basis for the market supervision department to deal with the "exceeding standard vehicle", but some problems faced by grass-roots supervision need to be paid attention to and actively coped with.
